Default I can't believe I am asking this.

I am tossing around the idea of lifting the SSS. I don't know how I feel about the idea because I really like the truck the way it is, currently sitting on a 2/2 drop. Its more out of necessity than anything else. I snows enough (alot lately) that ground clearance has become an issue. I know it doesn't happen all the time, but its a PITA having to dodge snow boulders because the bell on my trainhorns hangs a bit.

My question is about lift style and potential options. Before you tell me to search (the web, not just the forum) I have, and come up empty.

Is there a straight up 6" susp. lift that works with the AWD setup on the SSS? I have seen some kits that say they work with the Auto-Trac, but does that mean that it works with an AWD system?

If I go with a lif tlike the one above (if one is avail.) will i have to concern myself with drastic CV angle issues? Rough Country said someone tried one of their kits on an SSS and had bad drivetrain issues. Why would a standard 4wd sys. not have issues and an SSS would?

The other option i have thought of is a 2" lift, done with keys and blocks (or add-a-leafs) and a body lift, to get some clearance for some bigger tires.

Please keep the crusifiction to a minimum (I know its coming, just be gentile).

Thanks guys.

trade it in for a z71....do not lift a silvy ss

lifting a SSS is like lowering a Z71 in my book

I have a couple of friends that have sss's and they are at stock ride height and they do good here in MI where we see lots of snow.

Agreed. If anything, lift it back to stock.

Okay guys, I know. I am not in a position do anything other than make it work. back to stock height would probably work, but I have another problem...I live in an area that doesn't get plowed very well and is VERY hilly. My driveway is on a 30* incline. Its nuts. I NEED the ground clearance. I NEED the more aggressive tires in order to get into my driveway.

I have considered the Z71 thing, but I have too much invested in this truck to just trade it for a stock Z71. So I don't think thats really an option, unless someone wants to trade me for a diesel.

Put it back to stock then trade, then put all the stuff on the Z?
