Hypertech ?'s
#1
I got my brothers hypertech because he traded his 04 2500 in and when i started programming it asked about rev limit and something else about a +6 or a -6mph on the the 1-2shift.
If u read below you'll see what i have so what do i set the rev limit to and what the hell is the + or - mph thing. My truck stock shifts at about 5500-5600 so maybe i should set it to 5900-6000. If anyone has the exact limit i should set it to it would help because i have heard that ppl get a huge difference in performance by just raising the rev limit up a 100 or so rpms. Any help would be appreciated.
Also doesnt Hyp only offer like 8-9hp and 13tq. Maybe i'll use it until i find out more about other programmers.

I dunno about an exact rev limit but i am shifting at 6000 and it pulls great all the way there. If you are serious about getting some stuff done to your truck then should go with a real tuner like Nelson or some other tuner. They are a bit more pricey but you will be able to do some serious mods like cam, headers, and Forced induction. Tuners are so much more advanced than any handheld programmer you can buy. They will also get you much more hp over the "hyperpoo." If i were you i would try and sell the hypertech that you have and then look into a Nelson tune. He really knows his stuff and can help you with anything. I have had issues with my truck and called him and he told me exact wires and such. I dont work for Allen Nelson but i am a very satisfied customer. Or if you are dead set on tuning yourself, there is software out that you can tune it yourself just like all of the professional tuners do. Get HP tuners if you go that route. Remember this is JMO.
