Default hydroboost swap problems

I completed the hydroboost swap on my truck and now i have no rebound in my brake pedal. If i push the pedal it stays on the floor i actually have to pull it back to the up position. What could be wrong? I changed the master cylinder when i did the swap and completed the power steering bleed procedure and still no luck.

Was the hydroboost a used or new/reman unit? Sounds like the return spring around the rod is either not there, worn out or broken.

Pull the master cylinder off the front and look for the pushrod and there is a retainer that usually looks like a 6 pointed star, that holds the spring in place, it will pop out with a pair of needlenose pliers (prefer to use the small hose type, with the flared jaws) and the spring should be behind that...

Ok I pulled the master cylinder off and the pedal rebounds like it's suppose to. But with it on the stays down and I have to pull it back up

Unless something is binding when the master is installed, such as the spring in the front of the hydroboost around the pushrod.
