Default HVAC hot air blowing on all settings

I had the battery disconnected for some time as I worked on my truck. I finally got it back on the road any now the HVAC blows hot air when the AC is on and hotter air when turned all the way to the warmest setting.

I can hear the compressor turning on an off.

I found this. Any other ideas?

I seemed to have solved the temp control issue on my 2004 Silverado.
The passenger side worked normal but the drivers side would only blow hot air.
This symptom started after trying to solve a different problem by disconnecting the battery. (it didn't fix my other problem and caused this one)

1. Turn off engine. Key in OFF position.
2. Remove all three HVAC fuses. Two under hood, one inside the cab.
3. Turn all ac/heat controls to OFF and temp controls to cold.
4. Replace all the HVAC fuses.
5. Start the engine, AND LET IT RUN FOR 5 MINUTES.
6. After 5 minutes I turned on the fan, and the temperature controls worked normally.

When i replaced my blend door motor in my truck i had to follow those steps to get it to reset itself. Before i reset it, it would sounded like walnuts were rolling around inside my dash.

After the reset, everything works as it should.

I had to replace both blend door motors under my dash to make the sounds go away. Now only the rear one makes sound. Also noticed the foam around the blend doors is not up for the job and crumbles away in years.

This has happened to me before. I would turn the key to the on position and let it sit for a min or so then back off and right back on for another min. I do this about 5 times before i start the truck and it normally takes care of it. I was told it makes the blend door relearn the position

The blend door needs to relearn its position.

Sometimes it can be reset as mentioned above. If not this needs to be done with an OEM or equivalent scan tool.

I just did one over the weekend and it required a scan tool to relearn it.

Nothing worked.

Good news is that the rear HVAC works fine, very cold.

Do I need to go to the dealer? Will it be $$ Anyone in VA I can toss some cash?

Wolfy gave me some ideas. I'll remove the air filters and poke around to see if something is stuck.

Luckily the rear AC works fine, so the system overall works.
