no word on tq yet so who knows if its gonna be a high hp rever like the 6.0 or more of a grunter like nissans 5.6. My bet is its gonan be mid to upper rpm power so tq may be about the same

Thats okay cause GM has a motor in the stable with more HP. The 6.2 400 HP and 415lbs TQ and if people don't think that motor won't make it into the new trucks(already in the denali) then your just somking crack. Probably be in the Votech max in 08 as a 09 model. IMO I love the new chevy's and will be picking one up as soon as I can get the 6l80e. I would also guess it will be a high rev motor DOHC. I love my pushrods.

Going to a 5.7 is a huge difference.
They are out for the competition. I doubt there going to come out empty handed. Nissan is their biggest competitor in the import comparisons.
The numbers will surely be close if not better.
I'm sure GM's next move in engine designs will be DOHC. Their the only one left using single cam engine designs.
Time will tell.
