Thats okay cause GM has a motor in the stable with more HP. The 6.2 400 HP and 415lbs TQ and if people don't think that motor won't make it into the new trucks(already in the denali) then your just somking crack. Probably be in the Votech max in 08 as a 09 model. IMO I love the new chevy's and will be picking one up as soon as I can get the 6l80e. I would also guess it will be a high rev motor DOHC. I love my pushrods.

but nissans 5.6 dohc.. is much more of a stump puller than the 6.0. It's power badn is much lower in the rpm range... its all in the cam profile/heads

I don't agree. The GM LQ9 6.0L engine has plenty of low end torque.

Oh I'm not saying it doesn't have low end.. heck the ls7 has low end.. but the way its cammed... it's at its best at high rpms. The titan has great low end tq 385@3400... the lq9 gets 380@ 4000 vs the hp of the titan 317@5200 and the lq9 is 345@5200 I'll see if i can pull up some stock dyno graphs of both... its hard to come by. If you look at the shapes of the hp and tq curves of each motor... the dohc 5.6 is much more prominent in the lower rps vs the lq9

Those are some impressive dyno numbers on yours!

Looks strong but tranny and weight have so much affect on trucks. I wonder how its going to be geared.

If anything it will be a revver since that is what the current 4.7 is.

I seriously doubt it will only produce it's power in the mid to upper rpm band.
Going to a 5.7 is a huge difference.
They are out for the competition. I doubt there going to come out empty handed. Nissan is their biggest competitor in the import comparisons.
The numbers will surely be close if not better.
I'm sure GM's next move in engine designs will be DOHC. Their the only one left using single cam engine designs.
Time will tell.
