How are you guys priming the oil system in your new motors?
So, how're you guys doing it? Please don't tell me to install engine without plugs and rotate it over. That answer is unacceptable. What combinations of fittings and pumps are you using to tap into an oil galley and prelube the engine?

What about the fact that this motor is essentially bone dry on the inside? It's a LQ4 that's been sitting for 4 years without running. Can I fill the engine up with 12 quarts until the crank and rods are submursed in oil? I am not going to break loose the con rod bolts or main caps.

I don't like these recommendations, Even without the spark plugs in (compression) and fuel being added, I don't like the idea of dry bearings on the crankshaft. What does GM do when the engines are new or a service tech replaces a motor? I thought I read somewhere there's a GM oil priming tool for the ls1 engines?
