i think ima go by tomorrow and see if he'll let me check it out again, i think i know what im looking for, so hopefully i'll see a flat piston, he said he ordered them and they are from escalades, he wasnt sure what ''LQ4'' and ''LQ9'' were but he just said he ordered 3 brand new 6.0 engines that are supposed to be in escalades, so im sure there LQ9's but i just want to be sure

See if he has the VIN of the trucks they were taken from. Look at the 8th character of the VIN. If its a U its an LQ4. If its an N its an LQ9. But coming from an Escalade its probably an LQ9.

If it comes in an Escalade, its a 345hp 380 lb/ft LQ9, they never offered the LQ4 300 hp 360 lb/ft LQ4 in an Escalade.

It was the 315hp variant that found its way into the escalades. When I was looking fo rmy motor on car-part.com there were a few LQ4 engines out of escalades mainly 02 models that I noticed. All the 05s and up come with the LQ9 now though. He will find out when he pulls the plug.

Nope, only LQ9s in Escaldes. Denalis and C3s have 325 hp LQ4s.
