I'm with midwest, get some crazy headed screws that nobody normally carries a tool for. thats what i did after the "third time". hex heads("second time") arent good enough, get some torx like midwest said. i like that whold extra pinswitch thing too. that could work

That sucks. After spending $100 on my 03 taillights I didnt want to get them stolen. I put the torx head screws in mine. I got them at the local hardware store.

Yeah and I do miss the aftermarket lights. I forgot how dim the reverse lights are, and up here darkness is really dark, especially with windows that are blacked out.

Good ideas guys. I don't think I want the trouble of an alarm, but maybe it will be neccessary. I like the ideas of the fancy screw thing, may need them if I buy some different lights again. Untill then stockers will have to stay.

Here is a link to the tailgate I have if anyone cares to check it out and offer suggestions on how to lock it. I really want to lock it, but not with a pad lock or something like that. Then it can't go missing too, and will lock lights again.

No offense but 04 stock tails look gay!! Maybe smoke them out a little.

I'm not familiar with the design of that aftermarket tailgate, so I don't know how to secure it.
i wouldn't suggest an aftermarket alarm unless he's got a factory alarm i've had too many friends have trouble with their alarms. Aftermarket alarms mess with everything. JMO

sorry to hijack your thread but if you got problems with thieves and your scared they might get more drastic and steal your precious baby i suggest getting yourself one of these. they are 140.00 bucks and well worth it. Mine has already saved my truck and i'm happy to have bought one.
http://www.nostart.com/ Trust me these work. All they do is they send you 2 remotes and a relay and you replace your relay(Fuel pump, Starter, Etc.) with it and unless you press a button on your remote your truck won't start. Sorry to hijack your thread and also to make it sound like an advertisement but just my opinion. Good Luck.
