Just because it uses a little oil doesn't mean much. Keep it full of oil and it should last longer than you are willing to stay with it. Provided no extreme abuse....
40 years ago they kept oil with them for regular additions to new cars. So now after 200k and needs a little oil every now and then is just fine.
Every good gen3 engine I've torn down has had very minimal wear on the bearings as well.
You guys give me inspiration! Mine has only 52k plus now and I am seriously wanting to do a 150 shot of nitrous, raise the rpm limits to about 7k instead of 6k, and then have fun till it breaks.

Hell.... I may never live long enough to get to do the 1000hp engine that I want. If I only live to be average old age I've only got about 10 years left so this engine just might outlast me (but grandpa made it to 93 and I'm gunna outlast him!) I guess, for comparasion's sake, putting a 150 shot on the truck would be tatamount to me going back to smoking my customary 2 packs a day. I ain't about to go back to smoking so I might as well smoke some tires! Huh??? You betchum Red Ryder! (now you gotta be a geezer to remember that line!)

NITROUS... HERE I COME AND THERE WON'T BE NO 75 SHOT.. IT AIN'T WORTH THE TROUBLE. IT'S 150 (or more) !! I gotta be able to FEEL it!!!!

I just bought a 4.10 gear but maybe I'll raise the rev's and keep the 4.56... let'r smoke those new 20's that I got comin.
