Default how long do water pumps last?

Should I prophylactically change mine now? I'm nearing 154k and almost 10 years on it. Thanks.

I would with that many miles on it. Buy a brand new one, don't buy a rebuilt one.

I'd make plans to change it, but I'd recommend a pump from the dealer, not a $50 ebay part. You want it to last another 10 years/150,000 miles if possible, right?

Listing says "my price $160.00" Must have a reserve on it. Looks to be a GM pump though.

It's not all that difficult to change them. Personally I'd wait.
I bet it has plenty of life left in it.

Ya, but the time it does go out is on a long stretch of road out in the middle of nowhere

Slowly I've been trying to increase my engine bay aesthetics too. It's looking a lot better with the new heads, cleaned up valve covers, new intake. I was thinking of painting my alternator and all the brackets. $50 for a water pump seems like a great deal, but that seller has no feedback.
