Default How high can i rev my 5.3 L33 aluminum block?

hey guys well just had a quick question.. i was reving my engine too 6200 on my 212/218 cam but since i decided to upgrade to a 217/223 on my 5.3 i was thinking im probably going to rev a bit higher.. no matter what happens i will only push it to prob 200 rpm higher then what ever Hp i make max at the dyno. but just had a quick question i had heard something about the aluminum blocks not being able to rev past a certain rpm.. can i get some input on that? thanks..

A quick search will show that plenty of people are shifting in the mid 6k range. I shift at 6400 with my Iron 5.3 with 216/220.
That should be plenty for your cam as well.

Looking on LS1 Tech (since they are almost all Aluminum block) I see that a STOCK LS3 has a redline @ 6600rpm. I don't see why your Cammed L33 can't shift at 6400.

As far as I know the Aluminum Blocks have longer cylinder sleeves than Iron blocks do which should allow them to spin higher with more reliability. Someone PLEASE chime in on this.

Read just now some guys on there running 150 shot, trapping low low 11's and shifting at 6500rpm.

6600 seems like a great shift point with that size cam.

Been shifting my iron 5.3 at 6800 for a long time now, and I've seen Corey shift his as 4.8 at ~7000+ a few times at the track.
