*before you start reading this know that i am not ******* any chevy's*

a friend of mine at work has a '05 rcsb silvy auto with the little v8 4.8 maby... and it's a 4x4. and he's dead set that he can beat me in the 1/4, he actually laughed at my stock times. a stock 4x4 chevy with the little v8 sounds like a damned pig. what do they run so i know how bad im gonna beat him.

 

well what is your stock times.. a stock 4.8 will prolly run a high 15 stock rcsb but a lil slower with the 4x4..

 

You shouldn't have any problems at all beating him. Bet him $100 and then reward your truck for earning you an easy $100...

 

Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. A 2005 RCSB 4x4 Silvy with a 4.8 will run a high 15/low 16 in the 1/4 mile. I know Dakota R/T trucks are faster than that.

 

ran a 15.45@87.xx stock on a 2.23 60' got my trans-go today, still need to put it in.

 

props to chevy here... i was at a four way stop and chirped the tires taking off, didn't really mean to. a newer (05 - 03?) pulls out behind me and rides my ***... at this point im thinkin nice gonna kick his ***. so i gun it and so does he its a two lane road so its jus me tryin to pull on him. when he guns it i swear i hear the tires chirp. hes right up my ***, black smoke everywhere 'till about 90 i figured i'd had enough by then. so i flip him the thumbs up and roll on to the house. damn deisels get fast quick.

Diesels really do get fast quick but most start off extremely slow. That and most only weigh about 6000-7000 lbs.

 

I think it will be a close race. Dont the scsb 4x4's run mid 15 stock? and I be there mph is a bit higher that urs. mabye 1 or 2 mph. race from a roll heel win, from a dig it will be damn close.

 

dont sleep on a diesel man..i had a dodge dually do the same thing to me..you better have your **** together to run down a dually with mods

 

I say the Chevy runs a 16.0 at best.
