Default How do you install tranny temp & oil pressure gauges?

I wanted to order Autometer Phantom Electrical gauges to put in a pillar pod but i can't find how to install the tranny temp and oil pressure gauges. From what i've read someone said something about tapping a hole in the oil pan for the oil pressure gauge? That sounds rediculous and like far too much work for just a gauge. I would also like to get a scanner gauge like the Interceptors that Nelson sells but i heard that on the 99-02 model silverados that some of the dimensions (trans temp, oil pressure) are unable to read.

there is a test port on the side of your tranny above the shifting linkage that will work for your tranny temp gauge...thats where mine along with many others is installed...and check out this link for oil pressure gauge

he says the thing in the picture is for the oil temp not oil pressure.
Could you not just splice into the factory line like you said?
