Default How to disable a governor?

Hello,

I have a 2003 Silverado 1500. Would like to disable the governor in it. As soon as I hit 99 MPH the thing cuts the fuel off until I drop down to 94 or 95 then kicks the fuel back on. If anyone could give me some advice on what to do I would really appreciate it.

thanks,
Sean

Get a tune, from one of the sponsors, they'll turn it off if you ask.

Also... how long does it take to get to 99mph with a 4.3?

Cool, I will have to check that out. Thanks.
Unfortunately I havn't timed it yet. It does take a good long time though. Will see if I can get a time in the next couple days.

ok, so I finally timed it. It took about 31 seconds to go from 0 to 99.

You sure it wasn't the truck running out of gas? 31 seconds of WOT is a lot

I wouldn't need my speed governed if it took that long to get to 100. My attention span is too short, after 10 seconds I would probably forget why I had the pedal floored.

Yeah I know it sucks, but its a completely stock work truck right now. Planning to beef it up though.
