Don't do the credit card thing! Trust me, I'm still paying some off (thanks partly to my ex). Being single helps a lot, I've got more money now than I ever did! Oh, and don't be dumb like I did and buy a second or third vehicle. I just recently paid off my '00 Z-71 and working on my '02, and I also let the third vehicle go back.

I thought 40K was good...What do you do???(If you dont mind me asking) Looks like I may be in the wrong line of work.

I'm curious where you work and pull in that kind of cash! I am an engineer, and don't even get close to that.

You are right, nobody got anywhere on hourly jobs. The keys to success lie in the 401k, stock options, etc. $40k for being under 25 isn't too bad btw.

Yeah, Greentahoe is right!! But, I'm 26, bring home $44,000 cash after taxes, etc. I gross $55,000, work 40 hours a week, single, and I think that's pretty good for hourly pay.

That is hilarious!! I agree dont use credit cards. I dont have any. If you are looking to the future and you are young invest aggressively. I have quite a bit invested in double index funds. I have 6% taken for 401K and my co. matches that with an additional 4%. You can only do 14K a year so I try to hit the cap earlier in the year. I then put my tax return into index and double index funds and some seasoned co's. The market may go up and down, but I dont really care what it does now, Im looking 20yrs in the future.

Im a Sr Loan Officer and I am very hard on myself. Last month was one of my better months.... I brought home 13K in cash after taxes and 401K. There is money to be made if you are willing to work man. Like I said though, its high stress and you will have no job security. Thats the way of the world at least in my experience.

i got mine at rent a tire, u can get the rims and just pay like 30 bucks a week, but u pay for a year or 2, i got my rims there for 500 but thats because i payed cash, if u make payments the price almost doubles, there 20'' aluminum with black inserts and a black lip, they look pretty sweet, especially for 500 bucks brand new, but if u cant save money, u can just pay weekly, im pretty sure u can afford 30 bucks a week having 2 jobs and all

I am a senior engineer and work my *** off, but I would love to make more than $120. Because I work in IT, it is high stress and there isn't much job security either...you either perform or get lost.

I max contribute to my 401k and pretty much hit the max about 3/4 of the way through the year. The stock options are sweet though.
