Hi, I have 05 5.3L RCSB under full throttle the oil pressure goes right to the max...My dads Dodge Ram Hemi under full throttle moves little. Is there a problem with my Silverado or is this a chevy thing? Thanks.

Oil level is up, but it does need changing.

 

On my SS the oil pressure sending unit went bad. On the interceptor gauge it read 121psi and on the dash the needle was pegged, even with the engine off. Your sending unit could be bad. Are you running 5W30? If not thicker oil will normally raise your oil pressure, plus the numbers on the factory gauge are a little high...to make you feel good. If you're hitting 60-80psi @WOT then that's fine. Dodge's aren't any good anyway...they don't make enough power to need all that oil pressure
