Hemi wannabe

I've heard the same thing myself, that they are about as fast as a reg cab 5.3.They have the hp,but i think weight and aerodynamics is slowing them down.Looks like dodge may have caught us stock for stock...but havent passed us.I'd like to see some actual numbers myself just to know the facts.Somebody go buy one and take it to the track so we will all know

Well just to give an idea about what the new hemis are going to be running in the 1/4. I was At NPR last week and a 2003 reg. cab w/ hemi. 3.92 gears, auto, 2wd all the options ran 1 pass at 14.86. dont remember the mph. i didnt even talk to the owner. i just read the dealer options sticker that was still in the window! so I think theres going to be some good competition with theses trucks especially when the aftermarket comes in.

It really doesnt matter how fast the hemi is stock because if youve ever owned a dodge before you know the aftermarket for these trucks is almost nonexistant. Expecially with this being a all new motor. So even if they run high 14's stock thats more than likely were they will stay for a while.

That looks like pretty good for a stock truck. Especially a ext cab which it has to be at that weight. Don't get you hopes up on that reg cab SS. If it has AWD, it's gonna be heavier than a Lightning.

If Dodge wanted a kickass truck, they should've dropped that Hemi in the R/T Dakota!!!Seems like everybody is missing the concept of sport truck instead all the manufactors are making sport touring trucks?

I'm so sick of how much coverage the Hemi is getting. It seems like the last couple issues keep showing these trucks and there WILL be a strong aftermarket for these trucks. Don't get me wrong I love my Silverado but I see a ton of fixed up new body style Rams in my area. I'm not sure if they all have the Hemi engine (I doubt it) but they are all fixed up (lowered, rims, exterior upgrades).
I think Ken Belle and several other manufacturers are making SC's for these engines, not to mention the aftermarket for exhaust and exterior upgrades. Sorry but the Silverado SS is an overprices piece of you know what. Your better off dropping a 6.0L in a regulard cab Silvi or waiting (don't hold your breath) for the single cab SS
