Default Help picking new truck 11' 6.2L

Ok long story short I'm torn between 2 trucks. Both are 2011 1500 ext cab standard bed LT's. One has the 6.2L with the max trailering package with the rear disc brakes, hybrid rear end? so it says and 3.72's and 17" wheels. The other has the z71 package without the max trailering package, just the heavy duty towing package with the 3.42 locking rear 18" rims ( seem heavy) bigger cooler ect. I Really like having the 4 wheel disc brakes I always hated drums. I don't tow much but its nice to know the truck is better equipped to handle it. I do plan on some tuning. Will the gearing hurt the MPG much? I am coming from a modified 06 Cummings that gets 15.5 mpg on a bad day, and makes the 1/4 mile in 13.9 on my every day tune. I'm just not sure what to expect out of one of these gas trucks. But those are my two choices and I usually go for performance over appearance.

And BTW very nice site I've been ready alot the last couple days, I don't post much but do value some opinions on my choices.

Thanks for the input.

6.2, 6speed, 3.73s, would be badass. a tune and headers have been getting 13.3s...
