A few buddies of mine have recently gotten into Texas Hold 'em. They want me to play(read:take my cash ), but I am no poker guru. Can someone explain "checking" to me in laymans terms?!?! I just can't seem to get a good explanation from anywhere.

Anybody ever watch all the reruns of WPT on SpikeTV??

Not raising the bet if noone else has raised the bet already, if they have already raised, then instead of a check, you would call which is equaling their bet.

You can either:
Fold = Leave the game
Check = $0
Call = Match bet
Raise = bet more than the previous bet
