Default help, giving us a bad name

i hate to say it, but i got spanked. SPANKED by a dakota. please dont hit me. i am a newbie here, and i need some serious guidence. i am in iraq right now, earning lots of cash to redeem myself. so here it is

2000 silverado ecsb
3.43 gears (stock)
5.3 with almost nothing on it.
i got a k&n filter w/ stockbox
and a hypertech 3 programer

here is the situation, i raced something i shouldnt have. my own brother just did a R/T transplant on his 98 Dakota. no time slips avail, sorry. he got a stage 3 mopar pcm, headers, stock tranny what ever it is, and 3.90s. off the line was decent, up to about 60 he was only a half a truck length. then soon as OD hit, he walked off. i consistently hit the new hypertech speedlimiter, which i figger is around 125. 275/55R17 and 3.43. tire dia. is right at 27.3 in. anyway, i got trashed. i figgered it would be better to lose than to puss out all together, but this burns me. i live with the dick. what do i need to rip his *** in the 1/4? he says he can run a low 14 or high 13. what do i need? cam type, headers, stall converter, i really wanna keep the 3.43s(long drive to work) some one please gimme a list or something. but we have rules. no forced induction, no no2 above a hundred shot. he cant afford nitrous and supercharger. i have about 4 grand to play with. but by feb when i return i wil have 15. but leave is coming up and i gotta rematch. dont let me look bad.

cammed low mile 6.0, custom tune, headers, good flowing exhaust and you should take him, if not do a 100 wet shot on top of that. When you break your transmission get it rebuilt strong or do an 80e swap and at that point you may or may not wanna throw a converter in there. With that all of that you'd tear him a new one if he only beat you buy a few truck lengths. Oh and you may need a posi too if you don't have one stock (and if you do have a stock one don't be surprised if it breaks) Good Luck.

The Dakota R/Ts or basically as far as drag racing goes, the dakota platform can be punched into a mean machine, especially with the 360. The Dakota R/T club just ran with us down at Rockingham, NC, some of those guys were 12s and 13s easily. I don't recall seeing one that went into the 15s at all. Remember, lighten your load up best you can.

Everything he said
Its easy to get big power from the Gen3 small block. The trans is the weak link so plan on a upgrade of that along with the motor.
