Default HELP...battery and amp are dead.

Im gonna start off by sayin that my amp for the subs is fried. I got home yesterday (monday) and I heard a *poof* sound from my back seat, I turn around and see smoke coming out from behind my rear seat. Thats problem #1, problem #2 is: This morning (tuesday) I try starting my truck w/ my remote start, I wait a couple seconds and listen for the exhaust sound...nothing. I hit the buttons again and wait for the exhaust...nothing. Im like :wtf: and go outside to the truck, I take the alarm off and notice the chirp is really low. I pull the handle and the doors are still locked. I open the door w/ the key, get in and try to start the truck w/ the key...nothing. I dont have any current what so ever. The gauges dont even move...NOTHING. At this point im like :wtf: could it be. I jump start the truck w/ my moms truck and think everything is fine. I go to work for about half and hour then leave to see my uncle in the hospital. I get there around 1 p.m and the truck sits untill I try to start it to come home at about 1 a.m. As Im walking to the parking lot I hit the buttons on my remote to start the truck...NOTHING. I get closer and take the alarm off and notice the chirp is low again. I open it w/ the key and try to start it w/ the key and NOTHING. Luckily I still had the cables in my truck, so I get my cousins car and jump my truck.

Here's the question: What could have happened to make the battery die? Could the amp blowing have caused a shortage somewhere and its making the battery die while the truck is off?

Thanks in advance for the help.

pull the fuse out for power wire to your amp. Sounds like a short. If you dont have a inline fuse then just unhook it from the battery. Make it doesnt fall anywhere you dont want it to go!!!
