The new keeps blaming OPEC for the gas prices because the barrel price OPEC is charging keeps going up. However, from the news I heard last year when gas was so bad, CA gets very little oil from OPEC. Most of the oil CA uses to make gas comes from Alaska and off shore platforms in the Pacific! So, why is gas the most expensive in the CA when we don't use any OPEC oil?

That's because OPEC sets the 'market value' of oil. It's scary to me to think that when it boils down to it, they control our economy. Look around, how many businesses are raising prices because of gasoline costs alone, and not raising wages? Think about it ... it's scary!

Hmm, methinks that an oil-ogopoly that is making record profits right now has something to do with it....as does an oil-friendly President in office.....but hey, what do I know?

I would say a boycott, but it is only good if everybody does it and sticks to it.
second best to a boycott is to buy gas on one day a week. the bad thing is your tank will almost be empty when you fill up.
third best is to, if you can, fill up a 55 galleon drum and fill up at home, you will only hit the gas station 1 time a month.
forth best and my favorite, go to home depot and pick up the a 18 volt drill, the little gas pump that attaches to it. and hit the neighbors tank for all it holds. with higher prices a lock cap will be a good investment.

Yeah, whatever happened to Bin Laden? WMDs??? Seems funny to me that we invade a country, which coincidentally( ) has shitloads of oil, to "free" the people ...I'd say the president is protecting his interests. Doesn't he come from Texas oil money? Git 'er done!
