Default Heater not working in my truck....

Just curious if anybody out there has had a similar problem with the heat not working in their truck. BTW, my truck is a 2000 GMC Sierra. Any help would be greatly appreciated so that I might avoid the dealer on this deal...

Make sure you dont have a restriction in your heater core. I pulled each line off and ran the water hose through it. It can stop up where the rubber hoses attach to the core.

i warmed the truck up to operating temp and felt the heater hoses, as I had suspected after thinking it over, the outlet was cold. So my plan was to remove the hoses and try to backflush the core. When I left work today, whatever was causing the pluggage decided to free itself and I now have heat, although not as hot as it usually is. So when I get a day off I will get it professionaly flushed and cleaned out, its way overdue anyway. Thanks for the input.
