Heater core replacement

It's the little things you don't think of when you're in the moment of the swap.

How often do you have the right size hose clamps laying around while doing something like this? Not sure about you, But usually they're either too big or too small, sometimes there is 1 but not 2.

If some one comes across this while researching How to do it, It may remind them to purchase those along with the core Prior to doing it.

I know this is kind of a dumb question, but I never use my heat since I live in AZ. Any reason I couldn't just bypass the heater core altogether?

Another good tip I have picked up is you will need a quick disconnect tool.

Yes u can bypass the heater core, but do not cap off the heater hose fittings at the pump. Use a piece of hose in a U shape to connect them to each other. There is a thread on here with a part number for that hose. 5/8 is the size. Also those heater hose fitting at the core should have two plastic tangs that if you press them in it will "unlock" the fitting. No special tools needed.

Well got it all taken care of. Ended up with several left over screws/bolts and now my key fobs don't work, but otherwise went pretty well.
