heater core?

haha not everything is in the manual.. its a pain in the butt that's for sure.. I had replaced my Heater core then few months later I had to do my Evap Core.. half the screws were missing so it made it a lot easier.. there are a couple studs or screws behind the engine that are kinda hard to get to. but after u do it once its easy the next time.

well after doing my motor swap, i think just about anything else should be a cake walk. Anyways, the reason i ask is i was smelling antifreeze pretty bad in the cab today, and with the A/C on, it smelt a bit like syrup and antifreeze. So far, there is no water in my passenger side floorboard yet, but i have a feeling it could be getting worse.
Are there any online guides that might be better than the chiltons? What is involved in the change? Will I have to pull the whole dash?

the manual will help you.. but you can figure out what's goin on. but I'd rather do a Engine swap.
I didn't pull the whole dash, just got a piece of rope and tied the passenger side up to the OH CRAP handle.. it holds it out of the way.
Just don't forget to plug everything back in like I did.. haha. ill post up a pic tonight if its on my laptop..
I cut the heater hoses and re routed them and put couplings in to reattach them.. and broke the factory plastic things and just used hose clamps.

haha i actually just did a search and found your thread when you did yours, and i found another useful how-to write up on it. For now i might go grab a hose connector and route the houses together until i have time to do the core swap. I live in texas, so cold weather isn't coming for awhile

haha, I love this site...
that's a good idea. I would have done that but of course my HC goes out right before winter and Evap core goes out right when everything heats up...

So after i fix this heater core crap, I've got a pretty decent mod list building up.
1. Built tranny
2. 3200-3400 converter + tranny cooler
3. truetrac
4. 4.10s
5. 3/4 drop (maybe)
6. 20" centerline stingray IIIs + tires
Thats what, about $4,000?
I'm too young to spend this much money, damn.

I'm sure if mine had its way, it'd come out for good. But I'm saving up to have Built408 build me one so I won't have to worry about it until I start adding more mods.
