cool deal.
i don't use a compressor but use a ball joint separator.
i will try it by unbolting the lca next time, sounds much easier.

its really not bad at all. slip on spring compressor in through the shock hole in the bottom of the lower control arm and hit it with a impact. put the other on the outside of the spring and impact it too. i did the whole process yesterday no problem.

your not suppose to use an impact on compressors, they slip from the shaking and literally can blow up in your face. the ones i have rented are never big enough for the spring either. the cup on the end of the arm doesn't fit over the spring.

ive never had a problem using an impact. they hold every time. theres no way in hell to do it by hand on a spring thats alreay removed.

i do think ill dry dropping the lower control arm next time though and see how that goes.

one piece of advice when dropping the LCA, put a 2x4 under it on both arms. it helps keep it even when jacking it back up, and getting the bolts it.

ive never had problems with the compressors slipping or the impact moving anything. good luck cranking those things down by hand with a spring laying on the ground.

i think next time i will try dropping the lower control arm.
