Default Is this guy for real????

Here is an e-mail I got from this guy who is iterested in a car I'm selling. This whole thing sounds pretty fishy to me and why does this guy have "clients". Also, why would the "client" pay $4500 for a car that bluebooks $1900???

Hello,
thanks for the quick response i am very happy that 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood sedan is still up for sale, and the price is okay by me, but presently i am on a business trip in europe so i wont be able to come and have a look at it but dont worry everything is okay by me.

pls i have a client in the united state of amrican who is owing me the sum of $4,500 and i have called him and inform him about the 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood sedan and he has agreed to issue you a cheque of $4,500 so all i need from you now is to take the cheque to the bank get the cheque cashed, deduct your money from it and send the remaning funds to my shipping company via western union money transfer they will come for the pickup from your location. all i need now from you is to remove the 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood sedan from the advert on the net and consider it sold to me and i will compesate you with $100. pls i will require this information from you so that i can forward it to my client so that he can make the payment to you.

(1) the name that will be on the cheque
(2) your full address and zip code not p o. box
(3) your telephone number both home and mobile

pls after the payment have been made i will like you to inform me when you are going to be around so that the shipping company will know when to come for the pickup from your location.

yours sincerly
john

John,

Where are you located? You will pay for shipping right. I want 1500 for the car. Let me know.

The way the scam works is this. The cashiers check is a forgery but will look legitimate and will initially fool your bank.

Your bank will initially put the money in your account and you will fee comfortable with it and go ahead and the difference to this weasel.

Then later on, the forged cashiers check will bounce and your bank will take the money back. But you already sent good money to the crook.

There is a site somewhere about this where the lady plays along with these scum and gets them to spend the overnight fees to send the bogus cashiers check. She leads them around for a while and then drops the hammer.

It is entertaining reading. I did not save the URL but you may be able to do a search for internet scams, Nigerian scam, or something like that. The lady is a horse dealer.

Playing along with the bastard is one thing, do not send money.

Uhhh...a "cheque" is this...maybe you've seen them before. As in a "Traveler's cheque"...yes...it is spelled "CHEQUE." Oh yea, and it's one of the oldest scams on the Internet.

Just a twist on the ol' Nigerian email scam. I wouldn't respond any further unless you just want to mess with them.
