Default Great idea? or not

hey guys i was thinking, since i have a true flow intake: to achive max potential on cold air during a drag race at the track, not only take out the headlight, but pack an ice pack from a lunch box in the bottom of the air box. What do yall think? Good idea worth trying? or very bad idea? -think about it, freeze one of these suckers and feel the coldness radiating.

I think that they would not let you run at the track like that since you can get water all over the place

i would think as long as the "blue ice" wouldn't sweat too much or have something to soke it up with it would be ok

Hmmm, I've never considered that before. Try it with and without the ice pack and post the results!!

I've seen a few F-Body guys rig up either there windshield washer jug or something similar, and doing the TB Bypass but instead of just blocking off the coolant lines on the TB they hook up the windshield washer jug or something similar and pump cold water around the TB. They claim it is good for a .10 - .20 in the summer heat but really doesn't do much good in cool or cold temps.

IMO, just use (atmosphere in a bottle)....LOL....Nitrous. Spray a small shot like a 35hp sneaky pete kit right after the air filter would prob give you the same gains.

now that's a hell of an idea.

go to a junk yard and get a good condenser for a AC system that will fit in the air box.
rig up some kind of insulated water tank that you can add ice too.
a cheap electric fuel pump good for 7 psi.
put some kind of fittings on the condenser run a set of hoses and pump ice water through
your new intercooler set up inside your stock air box.
may not be much but on a NA set up it may drop air temps down in to the 60's on a hot day.

I cool my house by putting a tray of ice cubes in front of the furnace's air filter.
