got the clunk

Default got the clunk

hey fellas how dow u take the rear drive shaft down- today i removed the 2 u-joints straps - would'nt come down - wht am i doing wrong?- going to put some grease in the yoke

on my single cab, i will remove the straps and use a pry-bar & LIGHTLY give it alittle help, not sure tho if it will work on your ext-cab...

Put it in neutral, with the e-brake pressed. Use a pry-bar like said above. I hope your working on flat ground or on jack stands.

yep, neutral, ebrake, tap the driveshaft with a rubber mallet.

prybar
are you pulling the whole thing out? block up the front tire, put the rear of the truck on jack stands or ramps and pull the 2 straps off and pry it forward. unbolt the 15mm nuts to take the carrier out and slip the whole thing out. pretty simple.
