Exclamation Getting out of a Ticket?

Got a pretty bad ticket almost two weeks ago. 83 in a 65 which equals 4 points and 230 some dollars, not to mention the insurance douchebags getting their share as well. I had an idea on how to at least get this thing reduced. I told the trooper just about nothing at the time and did not argue with him, told him I was in a hurry and such, figured the groveling would do no good anyway.
What I want to try is using Predator to select the wrong tire size and or rear axle ratio to mess up the speedo readings, take the truck to a shop that calibrates speedos, and just get a statement from them as confirming the speedo is in error, reset the computer and get a second statement saying it has been corrected. Seems like alot of bullshit, but I cannot stomach giving even more money to "THE MAN". What I need to know now is will Predator work for this, and will it screw up anything else that may cause some major problems. I already know of the so called dangers of frying your PCM, which I think can happen, but I don't think will. Any ideas guys?

I take it you haven't had a speeding ticket in a while. That won't stand up in court anymore. At least not around here. I've seen several people to try it and the Judge simply said that you had have known you were going faster than the posted limit. You were doing nearly 20 over and they usually wright down on the ticket what kind of traffic you were driving in. If it was even moderate traffic, you don't stand a chance, sorry.

18 MPH over the limit? I REALLY doubt it'll work out for you. Hopefully it will, good luck.

Yeah Judge, I didn't notice the other traffic whizzing by backwards.

Heck around here if you're doing 83mph you better get out of the fast lane and let traffic go.

this has happened to me many times, but this is in NY state. i had the following tickets:

72 in a 55
60 in a 45
49 in a 35

when i went to court, i pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. you can do this if you haven't had a ticket in 18 months. the DA will offer this plead of a lesser charge. i paid $100 and my insurance never found out. this happened for each ticket.

no offense- Thunder, but all a lawyers going to do is negotiate with the ADA to reduce the ticket which is something you can do yourself. Also lawyers will end up costing alot more than the ticket fine itself.

Try to Write a letter to the ADA asking for a reduction. Explain the the possibilty your speedo was off and you have a clean license. If your not staisfied with that, plead not guilty and you will be scheduled for a trail in which you will be able to discuss the ticket and a possible reduction with the law enforcement official prior to seeing the judge. Ask for a no point reduction or even a 2 point citation such as failure to obey, etc. Unless the Court/Ada, Trooper is hardcore going to a trial over the matter is not cost effectavive.
If you plead guilty to a lesser charge the court still gets the money, you don't get any points and the ada/Trooper still gets a ticket.

I guess I should have given more details. I was driving up to Green Bay from Milwaukee, was almost to my destination, the freeways up here in rural areas do not have any lights on them so it is kind of hard to judge your speed esecially in totall darkness. I was also the only car on the road, so I was not zipping by anyone to check my speed. I know I was speeding and that is not the point, the point was to see if I could get it reduced to something a little more liveable.
To do this I wanted to use the Predator I have to throw my speedo off long enough to get a note from mommy to use as some kind of proof when I do talk to the DA. And still I ask, will this work? Will this create other problems?
If you know if this will work chime in, if you feel like telling me my odds at getting off and being told I am now a neighbor hood hero save it.
