Default Gen IV to Gen III swap

So I have inadvertently dug myself into huge hole and need to straighten some things out. I’m starting a new thread to keep things less cluttered. If it’s not appropriate please let me know.

Im swapping a ly6 into an 06 avalanche. I got the engine thinking it was an lq9. I have a new intake manifold off of an ly6, I have the Lingenfelter reluctor wheel harness and knock sensor extension on order.

Things i need,

vvt delete kit
8 pin to 6 pin adapter for the throttle body
cam position sensor extension.

With the vvt delete kit, they make a three bolt and one bolt kit. I call trick flow and the guy said it’s hit or miss if people have problems deleting the vvt without a cam swap. So I’m not sure if I should order a new cam or not. I don’t want to change converters and would like to retain low end power.

With the throttle body adapter, will just the wire itself work (~$40) or do I need the $250 kit that torque rush makes?

I bought the engine freshlyrebuilt from a local salvage yard and they had it mislabeled but ended up refunding me half of what I paid so I want to try to make this swap work.

You can delete the VVT without swapping the cam...just use a new single bolt cam gear...part no 12591689

or there are plenty of cams that will keep the low end power, increase power and idle like stock...

6.0 Stage 1 LS Truck Camshaft (204/212-116+4) - Cam Motion

6.0 Stage 2 LS Truck Camshaft (210/216-116+5) - Cam Motion

5.3 manifold

6.0
So looking at my two intake manifolds, there are two things I can’t figure out. One is my old manifold has an input for what I’m assuming is a ventilation for the head. There’s a hose that comes out of the passenger side valve cover but nowhere to put that hose on the new manifold. And I can’t figure out what the hell this is. I’m assuming another pcv type valve but it’s missing on the new manifold.

This has nowhere to go that I know of. Is this where people typically install oil catch cans? Sorry for all the questions, I’m learning a lot as I go.

Both are part of the PCV system....

On the first pic the hole in the intake there is a plastic hose that runs from the top of the intake manifold to the PCV valve which is built into the valve cover located on the drivers side at the rear....ill try to find the part number on the plastic hose for you

On the 2nd pic, on NNBS trucks there is a hose that runs from the passenger side valve cover at the front there into the air intake...so you will need to tap into the air intake and run some 3/8" Fuel line between the valve cover and air intake...

The PCV Tube Part No is 12597774 (for hole in top of the intake)

Ok cool. So the one coming off the passenger valve cover, does it matter where on the intake manifold I tap into?

No, doesn’t matter. Just somewhere on the intake tube bw the throttle body and air filter. Here’s an example...

Well good news is the swap is complete. The truck runs excellent and it’s a hell of a difference in power. I ended up getting a mail order tune from Nelson performance. I was trying to get ahold of blackbear and it was about 4 days between emails and I couldn’t wait that long as this engine went in my daily. If anyone cares/is curious I did the single bolt vvt delete using the stock ly6 cam and the truck idles and performs as it should. Most things I’ve read were to swap the cam out but I have had no issues as of yet. It may be something I do in the future but time will tell. Thanks everyone!
