What would be needed to do a Gen IV 5.3 & 6L80 swap into a NBS?

I've been researching the swap. I've talked to Justin at Blackbear, and Speartech, and they bolt said it couldn't be done. I would like to just do a 6L80 swap, but it it's supported by the NBS pcm and nobody makes a standalone controller for it... Lame, I know.

Aren't the "big power" guys that blow up the 6L80E's swapping to 4L80E's? I thought I read that somewhere. Anyways, if they are, why couldn't you figure out how they are doing it, then reverse engineer the swap? 4L60E to 4L80E to 6L80E?

Damn, that's confusing! But could it be done?

I'm waiting for someone to figure it out. 6L80e in a NBS would be the cat's ***.

I have a thread on a project with info on the gen iv engine in a gen 3 truck.
Good luck on the tranny. There are quite a few ly6's out there that are pull outs that are still attached to a 80e. That would be a good setup in a nbs.

The trans and engine run off a CAN-BUS system so without the engine's inputs to the PCM, the transmission can't operate. I've talked to a few people and they all say it can't be done, I'm still going to find a way. I'm all determined now haha.

The transmission (and engine for that matter) don't know what they are installed in. They just need the proper computer & harness combo to work. It might be a pretty involved swap, but I don't believe it's impossible.

Gen III's are being put into everything under the sun, and have been for years. Somebody just had to be the first to figure out the combo.

Damn, not what I wanted to hear, I know a 6L80 swap on a NBS is a no go at this point, was expecting if it came together with engine, pcm, tcm, etc. it could be done.

I haven't installed the Roush cause I know the stock 4L60E will granade and I'm not sure if a built one can handle around 450-480rwhp (what I expect out of the blower) on a DD rcsb 4x4.

Lvl 3 Performabuilt or lvl 5+ FLT shouldn't have too much of an issue with it.

Speartech did it. There's a thread on here.
