Onyx, the 4.10s and 20" wheels aren't helpin' your mileage much (although they are both good mods ).

I'm still trying to determine if leaving it in 3 for the low speed driving is worthwhile. Some folks say that if your trip is mostly gonna be at 45mph and below, then keep it out of OD so as not to lug the motor. I do this mainly to keep some responsiveness, but if it helps the mpg then that's a plus.

well ya, i realized that when i did em' but hey!... hey.

anyway, i was thinkin that i could take my power programming off for 87 oct. and maybe invest in one of these vararams... but i havent heard enough back from em' yet. its a pain to drive slower here because everyone sucks so bad at it... so i try to get ahead of them so they dont change lanes and hit me...

so drive in 3rd huh?..

serial...why would you keep it in 3rd to save gas? keeping it in 3rd in turn makes the motor pull MORE rpm which uses MORE gas...

Um, I dunno...walking? heh

But seriously, like Tokez420 said, I try to keep the rpms as low as possible and coast as much as I can. On the freeway, the speed limit is 65 here but I'll go 55 alot, it's crowded here in L.A. on the freeway so it doesn't matter(unless its 3am and in that case im going 100+mph)

I think putting it in "3" doesn't help save gas but actually helps the tranny because you're not shifting in and out of 4th all the time.
