Default FYI Cheap Valley cover for Gen 4 DOD Delete

GM part # 12598832 is the Valley cover that is from the early non AFM 6.2 in the Denali truck it does not have the crankcase vent on the front that has to be plugged to use on the NNBS trucks and comes with the gasket to block off all the AFM oil ports and the bolts. GM list is $42.78 for this part. I kept seeing everyone advertising the LS2 for use GM list is $141.53 and you have to block the vent tube off.

Good find. From what I understand, the PCV system on the bottom of the LS2/LS3 valley cover is better. You just have to plumb it up to the intake.

No. The LS6 is a Gen3 motor with the knock sensors in the valley. The LS3 or LS7 should have a comperable pcv system to the LS6 though as Coban pointed out. You just plug the valve cover nipple and run the hose from the intake to the valley cover.

Displacement on Demand. Although it's now referred to as Active Fuel Management (AFM). It's the system that switches the engine from 8 to 4 cylinders.

Ah thanks, and why are people wanting to remove it?

AFM lifters don't like high lift or fast ramp rates.
