fuel pump options

Default fuel pump options

what are the options on fuel pumps? some of the stuff ive read on the walbros has made me wary, and i dont want to pay out the *** for an oem replacement.

I havent had any problems out of my Walbro... prob 2 years old now.

What have you read?

i did a search, and it seems a few people had theirs burn up rather quickly.

then there are guys like you who`ve had no problems, just wondering what my options were.did you get yours from a sponsor?

so its walbro, oem, or nothing? i saw that granatelli(sp) has a pump for ls1-ls6, it looks like holley may have one. i dont know,will one labeled as working for an ls1 work, or are the pumps different?

They holley pumps and others can be a re-boxed walbro. I have had good luck with walbro, except the one I have now bleeds down after a few hours of sitting. Luck of the draw I guess.

Mine has been flawless for the last 2 years also. I have not heard of any problems with them either.

That is true. Most of the performance electric fuel pumps are re-boxed Walbro's. I have had my pump in for over a year now with no problems. No bleed down issues like Henry mentioned although I was warned that that might happen. I would recommend changing the rest of the fuel pump module if you have an earlier model NBS. There have been some issues with the fuel level sending units and I believe a bulletin on the wiring plug.

I think the problem that people were having with the walbro pumps was the hose inside of the tank. A friend of mine used a non submersive fuel hose and the gas ate it up and it burst inside of the tank. Make sure to use hose rated for fuel inside and out.
