Well, as some of you know, my tranny went out that I purchased from Mad Dog Transmissions out of Tampa after only having it for 6 months and then again 2 months later and he wont warranty it now even though there is 4 months left. Well he told me he put a 65E in and well, last I knew the 65E doesnt come with a 4 pinion planetary.

 

Yeah I'm sure its suppose to be a 5 pinion planetary set. If this is true, I would be raising all hell with this guy and getting your money back!

 

You should have went to Transmission Physicians in tampa and tolk to Fernando.. Thats where most of the f bodys go that i go to the track with.. They don't hardly ever have tranny problems..He has a turbo 97 silverado and is running mid 11's with a 4L60e and a transbrake..He will build you a transmission and stand behind it!! also has excellent service..

 

I got one from FLT now and it works great, it just burns me up that the other guy lied straight face to me. I originally told MDT that I wanted the punisher 4l60e and when I complained about the stall speed, he told me my truck orignally had a 65e in it, so he put a 65e back in it and that he dont have converters for a 65e that stall as high as I wanted it, which is also a crock because the 60 and 65e will accept the same converter. I already have a comlaint with the Better Business Bureau and will contact him Monday and attempt to make a resolution once again.

 

Did you buy through e-bay or use paypal? You have recourse there. Paypal will give you your money back if the product is not as promised. If it's the same guy his e-bay "commercial" is gay as hell.

I drove my truck to Tampa to have the work done and paid with a check. And yes, it infuriates me to watch his commercial after my experience.

 

Holy ****! I just watched that gay commercial! If he backs his work up 100% then you need to drill his *** for that BS!

 

My favorite quotes talking about the 700R4:

"It is an excellent transmission!"

"It is a true 4-speed transmission!"

None of that is true, The 700R4 is a two speed trans with overdrive that does double duty.

that sucks man. I have a good friend that is close with fernando and he will be doing my entire 80' swap on my tahoe. Its amazing how many jack *** retards out there do crappy work and outright lie to people. You would think that you would have some recourse.

 

Get a lawyer to send him a friendly letter. He may give you a full refund instead of going to court.
