Default Foglight wiring

I was told that the fogs already have the wiring in my 2003 Silverado. I look around for a while today and couldn't find anything with the rest of the lighting harness not being used.

The dealership guy also said this since he couldn't find a part for the wiring(switch but no wiring). If anyone know if this is true or not, let me know. If there is wiring already there, let me know where it is.

When I bought My 03 chevy, it did not come with fog lights either.
So I went down to the local dealer and purchased a fog light kit for my truck.
It cost like $150 with tax and all. The kit comes complete with two fog lamps, a new switch for the dash baord, and a wiring horness. The wiring hornes plugs into the fuse pannel under the hood and runs to the fog lamps. it takes about an hour to do the whole install. the only thing is you will have to buy a new low facsia so the fog lights will show. I tried to cut my stock one but it does not come out looking to good. The dealer will also try to tell you that you have to get your computer reprogramed after you install them but that is not true. I just pluged mine in and they work just fine. I hope this helps you out.

well, I guess it does not have the wiring already. I may get a kit off ebay but it would be cheaper to get some decent aftermarket lights and just run the power off the parking/headlights. My dad has a dremel so I should be able to cut a decent hole in the air dam.

I think they mean the wiring to the switch in the cab is there. The rest of it comes in the kit you buy ( it comes complete with lights, new switch, harness, relay, and fuse ). Got mine on Ebay for around $110 and installed in about an hour.
I did have to have my BCM ( body control module ) re-flashed to recognize the lights. Dealer did it for free either cuz I bought from them or was reeeeeeely nice. Probably the former, tee hee.

yeah that is what they meant. the good thing is I won't have to mess with the computer, the 03s work fine without that.

Well if you know someone at the dealer you can get it cheaper. They get a big discount and if they want they can pass it on to you. I ended up paying right at $105 for mine. I tried to cut my with a dremel and the plastic does not cut all that well. It ends up melting it more than it will cut it. Just my opinion it is cheaper and fast to just buy a new one. The switch is already wired all you have to do is take the old one out and put in the new one. Wireing the lights is not hard at all. They give you clips and eveything you need to run them. I wish you luck on your install, they really make a big difference in the look and the light you need to drive at night.
