!CLUNK sound from drivetrain!
#1
I think most of us know thw the CLUNK sound from the drivetrain to some degree. Well I work with a guy who has a 2003 Z71 ecsb model with 46,000 some miles on it which has a very pronounced clunk sound. I have driven in his truck and it is much worse than mine and seems very excessive. He has complained to the dealer which he bought it from since he took delivery. Thinking that it was abnormal and would be fixed by the dealer he remained extremely patient about the problem. After a year and a couple of months with the truck and countless trips to the dealer with them saying it was normal and met the factory specs he sought to go to the factory directly with the issues. After months of arbitration he was offered a $5000.00 lump sum settlement from GM. He declined the money and kept pushing for more. A week or so later after the $5000.00 offer, GM has decided to take the truck back, end his payments and pay back all the payments he has made since he bought it. This must indicate a problem or some type of effort on the part of GM to settle at least some of the claims from customers. Has anyone had a similar experience with GM on this issue. If so there could be a sweeping recall in the future from this decision the fully reimbuse a customer on a vehicle. This story is true and has not been spiced up in any way. I will keep you guys informed as I hear more. I just got this news two days ago.

Trust me, GM wont make a recall and riemburse people for their trucks. We' ve had 3 people at my dealership that had buy-backs . 1. A blazer that had a very light vibration before it shifted into 2nd gear, replaced EVERYTHING under the truck and it didnt work. 2. A caviler that the current owner wasnt even the original owner complained enough they paid it off. 3. An 01 extreme blazer that the customer was tring to blow the motor and after3 trannys, alot of other stuff and a motor a total of 16K in warranty work he filed a claim against GM and they bought it back after months of fighting they finally gave him the money back he had paid into the vehicle. We all thiought it was kinda of funny that he came to get his check in a new quad cab 4x4 dodge diesel.
If you complain enough you can get what you want in most cases.
