hey, iam a veteran, and i never had my *** beat in high school or my girlfriend taken

i feel the same way you do though about alot of cops. you know what its called. a POWER TRIP. i have 2 buddies i served with who are cops now, and they know how to be a good respectable cop. this thing with most cops though(not all of them, alot of them are good to go) is that they drive around with a d%ck up their a$$eS trying to prove to everybody that they are hard-asses. we in the marine corps called this the "i think iam a big, strong guy with a gun" syndrom.

when i got out of the corps, i was honestly contemplating joining up the local P.D. for a while just to harrass the other cops. 80% of the cops in town are sissy wannabes. i wanted to put them all in their places.

just take it with a grain of salt and know that not all cops are that way.

Sorry if I sounded like a cop in my post. I just respect cops because I've had more positive situations with them than negative. Sorry TXsilverado, I wasn't there when you got pulled over so I don't know if he really was a d*ck and had a power trip.

Im not gunna lie I hate authority and especially ******** cops who will try to overpower people in the wrong situations. Why dont they go mess with all the crack heads, pimps, dealers and ho's. Na they will try to get the least trouble possible. And just mess with the average joe, cuz they know you got more to loose if u actually question them. What Im talkin bout are the times of the year and we all know them. When they will actually setup roadblocks and hide under the freeway turnrounds to bust people for stupid reasons. Thats ****** annoying. The other day on my way to work I saw a cop in the middle of the road on the turning lane. All the cars were goin extra slow, I didnt know why exactly well when I passed by the cop, he stared me down as fast as he could he looked to see if my tags and insp. was current and also if I had my seatbelt. Luckly for me everything is current and my belt was on. But Thats total bullshit.@!! I mean he was like ( " ok ******* your going down. check, check, check, check, damn!!!!! next one ". ) Anyway when i saw that I kept goin, some poor schmuck had already been busted and was gettin a ticket by another cop. I hate entrapment and unjustifible excuses to stop a law abiding citizen when they damn well feel like it. That is why I have such a callous view of cops. The trip they get on and how they will not try to help the situation and would rather just give you a ticket and tell you to stfu.

I dont know about Tx, but in La. the cop issuing the ticket has to be the same one that clocked you on radar. Ask for a speedo calibration documentation in court for the cop that "paced you" while on the cell phone with someone in the car. How much attention could he really be paying to you and your speed?

i just re-read my first post and it kinda showed my new anti cop attitude a little too strong. especially where i said **** cops...it kinda says **** all cops which i know a few cops myself which are cool guys. the thing is that 1 cop can change a persons view of ALL cops. my last two experiences with the local police has been shitty to say the least. i called the police after a man hit me and ran. i sat there for about an hour and not a single cop showed up. then this.

i feel like i was profiled yesterday because im a young male driving a loud truck that is nicer than alot of the cars on the road. i feel like i learned alot from it and im not as nieve about police any more. before when my black friends would claim that they were pulled over and harassed because they young black males i was thinking BS in the back of my mind(a cop wouldnt do that!). i can see it happening now...pretty sad

Sorry, I have two step brothers that are cops. One is a Vet and the other isn't, but has been in Law enforcement for over 25 years. That one is Chief of Police in La Grange. It's just I have a lot of respect for cops. I've had my run ins with the a-holes also. It seems that better than 50% of the cops I know are Vets. Now where's my doughnut?

For the most part alomst cops are usually pretty cool about things. They tell ya what you did wrong give you your ticket or warning and then they are pretty quick to compliment ya on what your drivin if it is worth the compliment. Most cops themselves drive pretty bad *** cars or trucks when they are not drivin their cruiser. Cop lives down the street from me, hes got a '71 Nova completely built in the garage.

All I have to say is take a second and imagine what it's like being a cop just for one day. Imagine the crap he deals with on a CONSTANT basis. I'm not defending the one that wrote you your ticket, If that's how the situation truly went down. I don't care for the bad cop as much as the next guy but I have a ton of respect for the good cops out there.
