Munday Chevrolet did that to me about 3yrs ago when I was shopping for my truck. Didn't even know they did it until about a year ago when I saw my credit report. I don't know how the hell they did it either, my name and telephone number was all the salesman ever got out of me.

If you're ready to buy, call a dealership and ask for the fleet sales manager. Tell him what you want, see if they have it. If so, tell them you're ready to buy. Know what you want to pay first. Always talk in "out the door", all taxes and fees included, "bottom line", "what your check has to say to drive out with the truck in your name". Get the price you want then tell them the guy who was going to buy your truck backed out - what can they do on your truck? That way you don't do the balancing act. (If they give you more for your truck, the price on the truck you want to buy goes up). It's a bunch of BS.

If you don't have a trade-in, you can buy a vehicle over the phone this way. Give them your info so when you go to pick up the vehicle, all you have to do is just sign the papers, a major time saver.

Hope this helps.

when me and the little woman went out looking at Harley's, Cowboys in Beaumont did not have one in stock I liked, but they could get me a pre owned one that was a little more on the price, but just happened to be what I was looking for. isn't funny how it turns out to be just what your looking for.

found out that per owned meant that another dealer owned it, the bike was still in the box and need to be assembled, the little more on cost was a few thousand, shipping charge was coming from a Harley shop in the pan handle. add in TT&L and a few other charges
I was looking at paying about $23,430.00 on a pre owned soft tail that would cost around $16,000.00 if I waited 6 months for it to come from the factory in Pennsylvania.

I loved it when my wife told them she could get one from Orange County Choppers and have it hand delivered at the next rally in Houston for a **** load less. that pissed them off.

Pappy...thats why I drove to Lake Charles for my Road King. Saved about $6000. I get parts from Cowboy because of the chapter discount but won't buy a bike there.

I would go back to Ross Downing. That's where we've gotten several vehicles from, including the vette and truck. Kim is there still, btw, saw her a couple of weeks ago when I took the truck in for a few warranty repairs.

I don't think the employee pricing is that great. I bought my 04 Denali alot cheaper than the local dealers are offering the 05's with employee discount. One dealer wanted to charge an additional $800 to "transfer" the model I wanted from another dealer. I asked him why should I be penalized because they are out of stock; so I went to another dealer who had the exact model in stock.
