Onyx you ot to come to texas. they catch cats like that below the dam of Lake Houston and Lake Livingston. their are wild stories about cats as long as 7ft. long and big enough to swallow a 250lb man.
biggest one I have caught was a 25lb Channelcat (under the damn at lake Houston)thought i had snag a tree limb. got him up to shore and was like "holy crap batman"!

I am gonna assume that pic is shopped in some way or something because catfish native to the US don't usually have the **** fin extending quite so far along it's belly to tail. Besides, if it was from around here it should be some kind of a record and the records look like this:

Blue 111lbs in Lake wheeler Alabama

Flat 123lbs Elk City Res in Kansas

Channel 58;bs from Santee Cooper

I think that is one of those crazy South American catfish! LOL

It looks like it's **** fin to me. A lot fo the south american catfish have fins very similar to that. It almost looks like it is missing it's adipose fin.

Here is a pic of another potential record blue @ 121 1/2lbs

that 2nd pic you showed shows the **** fin good. you are right, i don't see any adipose fin on either pic. those fish have enough fat on them, they probably don't need anymore
