i put it on my 98 truck and it was only 4 extra dollars a month and i blew the tranny and if i didnt have the warranty it would have cost like 1600 bucks and all i had to pay was 100 for a deductable. if you got the money then do it. 4l60e's are bad for going out.

Yes it is! I turned in my extended warranty and oil change coupons. At the time, I had ~50k miles on the truck. They prorated the warranty and sent me a check for $800 or so.

Well my truck has 38,500miles and the ses light came on and the limited slip just went out like a week ago. Took it in today and all I have to pay is the $100 deductible. Mine is over at 60K or until 2009

Normally my warrenty requires a $50 deductable, but for $75 extra when I got the truck, there is zero deductable! So far I only used it twice- for a front axle seal (would have been nearly $400!) and the u-joint for the rear driveshaft to pinion yoke- before I got new tires I took the truck out to leave what was left of them on a local road and the u-joint started squeaking a few days after haha

For a truck, i'd go ahead and get it if i could, since it's unlikely you'll be building it for racing and breaking stuff.

For a car, practically useless. It's much better really to just replace things that break with stronger aftermarket parts.

I almost did buy one.
Then I started to mod my truck and thought how big of a PITA it would be to change the truck back to an acceptable state for work done and spent the money on parts to go faster!!
Plan your mods carefully if you plan on buying your warranty, go to too crazy.

I got a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty for $1200.For an extra $150 I get the full $1200 back at the end of warranty if I DO NOT USE IT. So if something minor goes out fix yourself.Ask about money back option when purchasing.
