I get tired of wasting money for sure, but by that I mean, buying a product from the WRONG company and/or installing something I will want to get rid of in the next month. "WHY DID I BUY THIS!!!???"

I thought I was the only "fool" that did that ****. Thanks for revealing that you also do that embarrasing stuff. I get so frustrated with that little kid in me that buys on impulse instead of thinking it completely through, and yeah.... that is money wasted. I've probably wasted a thousand or so on this truck on parts and frills that only lasted a couple days or weeks.

Keep in mind that life is short and you can't take it with ya! I know I'll never stop f0n with some sort of car or truck, that's why I have the '57 Chevy also. I also realize that everyone on here has a different goal in mind, and different plans which constantly change. As a recovering addict, I know that I am obsessive/compulsive and keep that in mind with each move that I plan. I've bought and sold cams, intakes, hell, whole motors, as one minute they seemed like a good ideal and another minute I thought I was crazy. I know what I want to do to my truck, and agree with Gibbs and Dewey, for me, and my needs (with the family and such) a 12 second truck is really pushing it. Follow along, I'll be around...after the Radix/headers and a fresh trans I'm about done. At that point, even tho my truck is older, I've got a NEW motor, new trans, new leather that I installed this year, it's like a new truck!...to me anyway. Even after all of that, and since I bought my truck used for $16k, I'll have about $26k (after I've sold some stuff as well) in a truck that I've already driven everyday for 4 years, and should last a bunch longer. I can sleep easy at night knowing that.

the more problems that arise the more i want to quit but if havent bought something for the truck, messed with something in the truck, or revised my plan of what to do for the future of it, i get antsy. as it is, i have a sticky note with a list of things that i want to do to the truck and then be done. needless to say, that list is edited nearly everyday. sometimes i wish i had another car to drive to a fro while the truck was down because i hate having a vehicle when i need or want it but, o well, its a beast that cant be tamed within our enthusiast souls.

I am in a little different boat but I have the same problem. I have my old 91 step that I bought in Highschool and I just cant bare to part with it. I had a company car so I fooled around with the truck, new paint new interior and a few other things. I quit my other job and went into business for myself so I lost the company car and for some strange reason I decided that was the time to start modding my truck. After freaking out and begging, borrowing and stealing a ride while my truck has been down I finally got to the end of my rope. The wife was always pissed at me and the truck and I got to where I wanted to just set the damn thing on fire. I went out and bought my wife a new car and I took her old altima and I drive it now. I must say that was the best idea I have had in a while. Now I have a new found energy working on the truck ( I do it now because I want to not because I have to to get to work the next day) I am not in a panic if it is not running and I can take my time and do the mods right. The only draw back is that I am a 6ft tall 260 lb guy riding around in a 2000 altima so I look a bit like a sardine. I also took an 8 ft ladder home yesterday and it was a bit of a challenge I also looked more like a redneck than usual.

one of the main reasons i spend money on my truck is because, like i say, if you have the money, do it while you are young. although i am 21, have a house and 3 vehicles paid off. just goes to show you what the mil. can do for you.

i know once i have a kid, it will slow down you know.

oh yeah and it's my DD. if i'm going about this the wrong way, please excuse me. i've been ing since 1800 and it's now 1030 here in BFE.
later...
