Default Escalade Cluster help needed

Got a 00 ECSB 5.3 that i installed a Escalade cluster into for the sole purpose of having the tranny temp gauge . Got my truck fired up for the first time this winter and drove it for about 15 minutes and the needle didnt even register a temp . Its sitting below the 100º mark on the tranny temp gauge .

Now ive got a B&M tranny cooler on there and its only 35ºF out right now but i would think it should read something right ? Everything else on the cluster works .

I wanted to know if maybee when i put my Yank stall in i might of not connected a harness on the tranny back up or something . Does my truck even have the tranny temp sendor on this truck or do i need to add something else to the tranny to make this gauge work .

If i remeber right when i installed the escalade cluster there was only one main harness that i plugged into the back of it and thats it , did i miss something ?

Well hope you guys can help me out .

thanks

Nothing else to hook up, just plug in the cluster and it should work. Actually, just this morning I happened to look at mine on the way to work, also around 35 outside, and it wasn't registering anything either. I am sure its working, just to cold to see any movement.

Mine doesn't register anything until I'm actually out, driving for about 10 minuites. Takes awhile to heat up that fluid.

Got a question for you guys. Is it really that simple for the Escalade cluster (just hook it up and go)? I have a 00 GMC 4.8L SCSB 4X4 and was thinking I would like a Tranny Temp Gauge as well but was hesitant about what was involved.

Thanks for any inputs.

Yes, it's really that simple. Getting the mileage set is another story.

What is up with the mileage? Is there a specific year Escalade I need the guages from in order to be a quick plug-n-play swap over?

Thanks

The mileage has to be programmed into the new gauge. I just installed an Escalade gauge in my 99 silverado and everything works fine.

Thanks,

I've seen a few white-faced Escalade guages that look awesome and I think that's what I'm going to get. Did you have the cluster programmed from the place you bought it or took it to somewhere else?

Thanks.

I am still trying to find a place that is fairly cheap.

I didnt get mine reprogrammed just give the person that purchases your truck the old cluster and they can add that to the mileage on the esc cluster. Its not a big deal to me cause I have WAY too much money in my truck to sell it.
