Cant find much info on it. Anybody do this mod on here? What size temp probe will i need and where should i put it? I ordered a 160 tstat. i saw a fitting somewhere in another post that goes inline with a coolant hose that you can thread a sensor into but now i cant find it...

I did electric fans on my 2003 3500 6.0, I had the PCM tuned to control the fans. Prior to that the fans where controlled with thermo switch, was a major hassle and never worked reliable. PCM tune is the best by far!

PCM tune for efan control only $45
New Dorman efans $130
E fan harness $80

Put a thermoswitch in the passenger side head and use it to kick on a relay that turns on the fans. That would be pretty reliable.

I don't know how heavy you tow or how you plan on using the truck but there is a very good reason gm left a fan clutch on those trucks. I tried the electric fan route on my 07 3500 and with a large trailer and heavy load they could not keep it cool in temps over 85 degrees outside. I wound up going back to the fan clutch and shroud and never looked back.
