Just put in 8 new E3 spark plug(E3.62). My check engine light started to blink then it stayed on steady. I really don't know that much about trucks or cars. I would love to trick out my truck, but so far not having good luck. The plugs are the first thing I did. I have an GMC 2003 Ext cab 4.8L V8 1500. I need some help; change the plugs and/or take it somewhere to have it fixed.

take them out and put new ones in

those things are a gimmick

 

If you are n/a install factory delco plugs or NGK tr55's
Those E3's are not what some may think,especially in these engines!!

 

I've seen both positive and negative reports on the E3's. Are you sure you got the plug wires snapped back up correctly and didn't crack the ceramic on any of the plugs? Either of these will cause misfires, which will cause the check engine light to flash initially and to go to constant on if the misfires continue.

 

yes I put on new plug wires(MSD) and checked them twice, still the light. Also it misses a bunch.

 

No on the e3 plugs. Tried them in a friends truck and lots of misfires. Replaced with tr55 ngk, and all was good.

 

ya i have the delcos... they worked alot better for me than the E3s they were a very big waste of money

 

+1 on E3 being junk. NGK TR55's are like 1-2 bucks each and work great. But since you have them. are they gaped right?
BTW stock wires are always fine unless you just like to buy new wires.

 

E3 = garbage.
