Default e-brake recall?????

ok i had a customer come in today asking for a copy of his invoice from me replacing his e-brake. he said he just got a letter in the mail from GM saying they were gona pay for it the problem. then i asked him and he said i should be getting one also. he is the type to write a letter to them but by him saying the last statment makes me wana believe he did not.

any one get a letter???

not me, but i hope i do get one. dont know why, but my e-brake holds awesome and i use it daily(i have a steep driveway). 38,000 miles on the truck and i dont even push the e-brake 1/4th down to get it holding tight. my other 2 nbs trucks had e-brake problems around 15k miles

should be the same parts...probably just more likely that a vehicle with a manual trans will end up in neutral and roll away as opposed to one with an auto

good thinking on the manual auto issue. yes his is a manual and i can see them recalling only those. why becasue it is a saftey hazard because u need an ebrake on a manual. well damn that pisses me off i thought i was gona get paied to work on my own truck.

edit: oops u beat me. and yes they are the same parts. also latley i have seen a fiew cases where the only prob is the axle seal blown and causing the e-brake to not hold.
