My dad has the ford with the 6.0 Diesel in it and stock it went ok, this week he had a full bullydog exaust intake and some programer put in it. Now the thing flyes I mean it is so fun to drive feels faster than my 4.8 it just wants to spin tire. Now it got me so excited i want to get one, but heard the duramax is faster and was wondering if it is true. So this week i went a looked at one it is a 04 extra cab silver and i got a pretty good deal on it and havent really tried to talk to the dealer that much, caz i still need to figure out a way to pay for it, but any info on the durmax vs the ford would be helpful.

 

If its a 2004.5 aka LLY it will be more powerfull. I think its rated at 325hp 590lbs.
The d-max picks up allot from programmers and a Juice Box.

 

the 01-04 (not 04.5 LLY motor) right now has all the programers out there. the new LLY doesnt have near the availability. the LB7 duramax has no emissions either. we have an 03 that pushes 405 rwhp and 800 rwtq with just one box. the PS and the Duramax are very similar in total package. the PS is stronger stock but cant be pushed as hard with just a programing box. go to www.edgeproducts.com - they make the powerful boxes for both. but as with both trannys, neither can take the tq at that level for long. the allison is slightly ahead of the tqshift.

 

I ran 14.30 with just a chip and exhaust with mine.

 

Ya it is a 04 with lly the guy said it was done for emetions, 14.30 sounds real good for me that would be kick as.
