Default Dumb Question,

On you tube there is this guy that is convenced that the 5.7L Itec in the new toyota tundra is just a chevy 350 with different head, and exhuast, and it was switched to run double overhead cams, I insisted this was incorrect because toyota uses double overhead cams, yet gm uses the single cam built right into the block, am I wrong? pleasseeeee dont tell me I am lol, ok tell me the truth

You are correct, there is no way that is a sbc with different heads. Sounds like the guys a real dumbass. The i-force 5.7 is based on the 4.6 thats in the Lexus LS460

no but i will say that the Nissan Titan 5.6L is a direct LS1 rip off internally, the block is almost identical barring OHC

all the sudden the 5.7 is a common litre after gm gets rid of it in their vehicles.

I knew I was right, no way a single cam block can be made into a DOHC engine, guns a ricerburner lover, something in his name about civics, though I do agree the 5.7 is getting crazy common now that gm doesnt use it.

if im not mistaken you can take a SBC and convert it to OHC instead of cam in block.

but the toyota IS NOT a modified gm motor in any way.

from what ive heard the hemi's can use some LSx internals (valvetrain) with modification.
