Yes it can. You are changing the geometry of the warrantied design. Now some dealers are nice enough to not care unless it it is supension related or a couple of other things in the drivline. But if you have the time, you can always raise it back up to take it in for major work. That's just one of the pains to deal with when you want a sharp truck. Hell, I've heard of cases where they voided a warranty (or tried to) for a guy with a brake problem with aftermarket wheel and tires. That may not even be true. Don't let that discourage you though. The dealer has to prove that the aftermarket part caused your problem. They still have to do recalls and such.

On a 2" drop they would have to be extreme ******** to say anything. But when you start taking off hangers and springs etc... they have been know to say something. I just don't care, and did mine anyway.

Back when i bought my '98 Sierra Ext. cab I dropped it 5-7 and put aftermarket rims on it... the shop that lowered it said it would void my warranty because of the C-notch. But I was able to get my local dealer to service it a couple of times and it was for brake related problems the first time and fuel pump the second time. The only think they said was that they couldn't do the complimentary oil change because they couldn't get it on the lift....

i've got the 2/4 drop along with some performance modifications. i've taken it into a couple different dealerships and they all said the same thing.

"if what ever you put on caused the problem then "THAT PART" of the warranty is voided."

i've had a/c problem, electric mirror problems, brake light sensor problems. they fixed everything no problem. i did hear a noise coming from under the truck a while back and the dealership didn't know what it was but eventually said it was the exhaust banging up against driveshaft. i still had to fix it myself, cause they wouldn't touch it.
